Heading Tags Outline

Heading tags are very important in SEO as they help to define what a page is about and which aspects are most relevant. In HTML there are six heading sizes H1 to H6 with H1 being the biggest and most important.By using an H1 Heading tag you are starting that this is the main heading of the page.It is not uncommon to use two H1 tags on a single page if the page is broken down into two primary areas of focus.Successive heading tags are used to highlight sub topics.

Optimizing using Heading Tags:

When using Heading tags on your pages it is best to relate them to their specificity with your H1 as your primary and most relevant Heading and drilling down in relevance using subsequent Heading.Make sure that you keep your Headings concise and targeted to the specific level of relevance and that you don't duplicate Headings across your website.Use the keywords that are most relevant to the topic and your level of specificity. For example on a page that talks about outsourcing training you can have it broken down like this

H1:outsourcing and SEO training
H2:freelancing,affiliate marketing
H3:concept of website promotion
